The rear yard on this beachside site was once bare sloping lawn. The owners and their four young girls desired a functional and family-friendly garden and a place for memories to be made.
The Hamptons style house has an open plan layout that allowed us to incorporate a unified indoor-outdoor space that flows seamlessly from the living room to the outdoor area allowing for indoor-outdoor living. We included a large pool for recreation and a timber boardwalk style deck to provide the perfect space for both relaxation and entertaining.
Using natural materials to compliment the modern Hamptons style, sandstone blocks were used for a poolside feature wall, hardwood timber slabs used to address site levels and to create interest, and the hardwood timber decking will be left to grey off to complete the neutral colour pallete.
Marrying traditional Hamptons features with sub-tropical style planting, the result was an elegant, easy-going, light-filled space that now only requires kids laughter to create a touch of atmosphere!
